Perfect Keylogger For Mac
I suspected that my ex-boyfriend had installed a key logger program on my Mac but gave him the benefit of the doubt during our relationship when he just happened to know things that were only ever typed into my computer. I have a Mac Book Pro and just discovered Perfect Keylogger after trawling through forum posts. There was a BPK icon in my login items (system preferences- user accounts) and I somehow managed to find files with hundreds of screenshots and logs of everything I've typed in the computer. I cannot for the life of me find these files now because I'm such a mess and have been clicking in and out of so many screens but I need to know how to get rid of it because I'm sure he's accessing it from another compute ( I found a text file that said something about the last login being last Sunday at 10:40).
When I found the BPK file it said that it was installed in 2009 so it's been there a while. I would appreciate any help because I'm terrible with computers and am going out of my mind trying things on forums that just confuse me even more. And I also accidentally deleted the bpk in the login items. I'm hopeless.
The you best bet, to completely safe is re-install. Then upon the full erase, install a clean copy your OS X version. Then just use /Applications/Utilities/Migration Assistant to bring back your pictures & music ONLY. Also bring in a single document (make before you erase) that have the license data for software programs. Then do fresh install of the programs putting in the serial number for each program (that you wrote down before the erase). IMHO the full re-install (after an erase) is the complete way you can be sure he left no trace of anything on your Mac.
